I knew when we moved into the new house that I wanted a cheery, bright space for Gus and Lula with touches of color throughout.
Other than the donkey (explained here), some fabric, and some new chalk boards, I already had everything in the room on hand. The beds were Goodwill finds, the duvets were gifted from my mom (old Ikea purchases, I think), the chandelier was from the kitchen in the old house (originally an ebay purchase). The bunting was made from an old atlas I had, the rug was from the guest bedroom in the old house, and the green sofa was from the old nursery.
The fabric for the shades is Richloom Birdwatcher in Summer. The photos don't do it justice.
The floral on the couch pillow was from Joann's. Sorry, I can't remember the manufacturer or name!
The growth chart is one of my designs from the shop.
It still has a bit of work to be done. We'll eventually tear up the carpet (it's in pretty bad shape, but we're waiting to be done with potty training first!) and replace the floors with wide-plank plywood like we did in the rest of the upstairs. Eventually I'd like to do something about the shiny brass knobs and hinges, and I'll probably add more artwork above the couch. But for now, it's the most completed room in the house. G and L seem to approve :)
