The Pink Room

I thought it was about time that I introduce you to one of the most neglected rooms in our house, "The Pink Room".  It's currently our secondary guest bedroom, the one room in our house that I have let myself go fully girly in.  While it's still very much a work in progress, it makes me smile every time I pop my head in.  Pink does that to me.
I'm thinking it will eventually be Lula's room, though I'd love for her to have a little sister to share it with -- eventually!  Maybe by the time we have kiddos who are old enough to move in it will actually be finished :)

The nitty gritty:
The beds were $40 each at a yard sale.  They were a dark wood, and I painted them our trim color - "Ballet White" by Benjamin Moore.
The little pink side table was also a yard sale find.  It came in a set with the yellow dresser in the nursery and the silver dresser in our bedroom -- all for $45.  They were all a gross cream color originally.
The pom-poms were originally from a baby shower for a good friend.
The embroidered pillows were originally placemats I bought at Target years ago.  The coverlets were a steal for $11 each at Home Goods on clearance.  I love both the ikat-ish top sides and the striped undersides.
The pink mirror, lamp, vintage pink glass bowl, and vintage pink Reader's Digest book were all yard sale finds.
One of my favorite touches in the room is my "getaway" dress from my wedding day.  Very ballerina-like, and a very sweet memory for me:

Future plans for the room include an area rug, more wall art, a dresser, and more substantial window treatments.  I'll update y'all as I go!

this room is beautiful! I love pink too, but my daughter is soooo NOT a pink girl!

Love your charming home, and I do love that pink as well, but in our home everything plays second fiddle to my all-time favorite color, green! I have the same bedspread that you have on the twin beds, but of course, mine is GREEN! Love it and am not tired of it yet...which is a minor miracle. Any news on when the babes are scheduled to arrive? Praying...

Oh I love all the pink!

I love the beds - they look like a set of antique beds that have been handed down through my college roommate's family. The whole room is adorable.

Sorry - I messed up my last post. This room looks beautiful! what is the paint color on the walls??

That would be an adorable room for a little girl. I love the touches of grey (or maybe it's more tan?) on the bedding.

And the exterior of your house is gorgeous!

Thank you everyone!
Bianca - I'm honestly not sure. We "custom mixed" it ourselves :} It started out as a creamy white and we added a smoky brown to it until I was happy with the color. I just checked it against some paint chips I have and it's similar to Frappe by Valspar, but a little lighter. Hope that helps!

I love the room. I was hoping you found the beds at a store since I want one like them for my daughter's big girl room. Your home is beautiful.

What a precious story of God's faithfulness to bring you 2 babies to your beautiful home! I'm glad I stumbled onto your blog! We have twin 2 yr old girls and this is exactly the inspiration I needed for their "big girl" room!! I can't wait to get started.

I love pink and this room is understated but feminine, the perfect combo. I think your dress is perfect in here, and the puffy rosettes hanging from the ceiling set a whimsical tone.

I am inspired and then inspired again everytime I read one of your posts. My head is spinning with ideas, and I can't even begin to tell you how exciting it is that you are prepping for your new additions!! (And I don't even know you!!) :)

I have a question for you: you may have said somewhere before, but I wondered if you spray or brush paint your furniture? Have I mentioned that I am inspired?

I love that dress.

What a beautiful little pink room! And I love how you carefully placed your getaway dress in there. I have seen more and more people hanging a favorite piece of clothing in a room as decor and I think I need to give it a try. There are just too many favorite clothing items sitting behind closed doors in my closet.
