Completely Random Tidbits

Keith and I got back from St. Louis on Saturday, picked up a fresh Douglas Fir on Sunday, and started decorating it yesterday.  (I say started because it really does take quite a while - I like lots of lights.)  Anyway, as I was pulling out Christmas decorations, I realized that I never showed y'all our Thanksgiving table.  It's not much since we didn't actually have a Thanksgiving meal at our house, but I figured I'd document it anyway:
Because I know you'll ask, all the milk glass is from yard sales.  The mercury glass candle sticks are from a consignment store, and the silver pumpkin is from TJ Maxx ($7).

And now onto Christmas.  I've added photo Christmas cards to my etsy shop, so if you're in the market, check them out.  Here are just a few:
And just for you, I've modified one of my designs to create printable notecards.

I *think* you should be able to download it here and then print it.  It's set up with 2 notecards to a page.  Let me know if you run into any issues!

In completely unrelated news, I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Sharpie for featuring my "wallpaper" project on their blog!  I really am a big fan of that company (and their products!), and was blown away when they contacted me about an interview :)

And to be completely random - because I know y'all don't come here for gardening advice (and for good reason!)......check out our evergreen wisteria vine.  Here it was in the spring:

And in six short months, it grew about 12 feet:
I have the blackest thumb in the world, but this has just taken care of itself.  If you're looking for a low-maintenance, fast-growing vine, I'd definitely recommend this!

And to wrap things up, if you're in need of a few ideas for your Christmas wish list, feel free to steal a few of mine:
This card game (or games, rather, since you can play several different games with this deck) is everything I look for in a card game - easy to learn, fun, and engaging.  Some friends have it and we've enjoyed it enough to want our own deck.
If you're looking for some boots this year, I'd highly recommend these.  I stopped by Target yesterday and tried them on, and they are comfortable, cute, real leather and inexpensive.  (On sale online for $38 right now.)  The brown ones are on my list!

And this.  Another friend highly recommended this cook book and after trying a recipe from it, I'm sold.  It's written by a nutritionist who believes that recipes should be tasty, healthy, and easy to cook.  Sounds great!

If anyone made it through this whole post and is still reading - thanks for sticking with me!  Happy Tuesday!

ooohhh...i HATE to rain on your parade but wisteria is NOT a carefree plant! it is invasive, will threaten to tear down your porch post & will try to crawl inside your house! if you want to take the time to read it after this 'gloom & doom,' i did a blog on it @ fleurgardens.blogspot.com...it really is a love/hate relationship for me! again, i apologize for the 'rain!'
