I cleaned up

this weekend yard sale-ing.  Here's a peek at my treasures:
Milk glass.  I'm guessing the one on the right is an ice bucket.  I've never seen one of these before, so I had to snatch it up.
More milk glass for my collection.
Really cool mercury glass apothecary jar and pumpkin (OK, the pumpkin's from TJ Maxx, but doesn't it look great with my yard sale jar?)
Vintage suit case and globe.  I have plans for both of these.....
....and look what I found - Ethiopia!

I love yard sales! What great finds! I have started collecting milk glass (what I think is milk glass, anyway). Can you tell me how you really KNOW when something is milk glass vs. something that just looks like it? THANKS!!!

Great finds! This reminded me - I was in Las Vegas for work last month and my cab driver was from Ethiopia. I had no idea what a proud country and people. The oldest independent ountry in Africa. Wow. Such history!

And I'm dying to know your plans for the vintage suitcase!

Great finds! Speaking of Ethiopia, any more progress on your adoption?

Thanks everyone!
Random Kristi - to be honest, I have no idea. I just like how it looks, and collect anything that I think is pretty, regardless of whether it's "real" or not. Sorry I can't help at all. Good luck with your collection!

Tanya - Thanks for asking! We're still waiting. But we did get an update from our agency and they've been making some good changes to the program to hopefully get the wait time down, so maybe soon! I will let the whole world know when we get our referral for sure!

Thanks, Britt! I have been doing the same thing, just going by looks, and it makes me happy so I will continue with that! I did not realize you were adopting from Ethiopia, CONGRATS! I have friends who adopted from there and I am very interested as well some day! BEST WISHES!

I'm in love with the milk glass that you found! I could go on and on about how much I love milk glass, but I won't for your sake. It looks like you found some spectacular items.

I'd love to hear about your adoption. We started the adoption process for Ethiopia but put things on hold when we found out we were having a grandchild. My heart is still there and I'm sure we'll proceed one day.

Good luck on the adoption! We have a little 2 1/2 yo girl from Ethiopia. She is so sweet and we are so lucky. We went through Holt and had a great experience overall. I would love to go back!
