Yard Sale Finds

This weekend was great for sales.  I shopped at an estate sale here:
It's called Catalpa Plantation.  It was built back in 1835 and spared by Sherman's troops (perhaps because of its proximity to Newnan's union-serving hospitals?).  Today it has been completely restored inside and out.  I have driven by it (and drooled over it) several times before and jumped at the chance to go inside.  It did not disappoint.  You can see photos of it here, where it's listed for sale, though it is much more impressive in person (and without the owners' stodgy decor).

Most things at the sale were a little pricey for my tastes, but I did pick up one little souvenir:
It reminds me of all the trendy white ceramic figurines at places like Z Gallerie

Also purchased this weekend: this heavy glass canister for $2:

This milkglass bud vase to add to my collection ($.50):

And my biggest score all weekend was on baby items.  At a single sale I got a Baby Bjorn, a Bumbo seat, two brand new baby toys, and several baby outfits -- all for $6.  I felt like I was robbing the nice lady as I walked away with over $100 in purchases!

Hope ya'll had great sales this weekend, too!

Baby items are the best at yard sales. I have been very lucky getting stuff for the kids at yard sales.

jackpot on the baby items! I spent $15 on my bumbo on ebay.

I never knew that plantation was there when I was living in Newnan! Will have to remember to check it out next time I'm visiting the in-laws in Peachtree City
