I have about two yards of this fabric that I originally ordered for the nursery, but then I changed my mind about the room's color scheme.  It matches our bedroom great, though.
And I do need some kind of window treatment for a little privacy.  I'd love to make some roman shades, but I have six windows and just two yards of fabric.  So I'm thinking about maybe making some pelmet boxes out of the fabric (I think I can stretch it that far), and then adding inexpensive roller shades underneath.  Jenny over at Little Green Notebook made these adorable pelmet boxes out of foam core - aren't they beautiful?  Jenny is a DIY genius!
I think pelmets would be a nice look on our windows, and they would hide the roller shades except when they're down.  And as for the shades themselves, I think they might look nice embellished with a little ribbon.  A while ago I bought ten rolls of blue-green grosgrain for $1/roll, and this just might be the perfect place for it.

Something like this:

Any other suggestions to stretch 2 yards of fabric (and not spend a ton)?

P.S. for those of you who asked about the nursery fabric, I bought it at the same place

Maybe one giant pelmut over all three windows?

How about finding a coordinating fabric to make the shades or pelmets out of and using the 2 yards as a boarder?

I was going to suggest to make biased ribbon out of the excess (if you have any from the pelmet boxes) to use in lieu of the ribbon; but the pattern of the fabric might be too large really get the whole effect. I like your schematic as it is! Very nice!

You have such nice indows in your home! And such a bautiful bedroom! I like the way you want to do it; I think it will be a stretch with two yards, but if it works, that's awesome!

You should consider cutting a few even squares or rectangles and framing them in simple white or black frames for an art piece in your room. I recently framed some fabric myself for an earring holder I made on my blog http://recklessbliss.blogspot.com. Give it a peek if you get a chance! love your blog!

Love your bed in the master bedroom. Could you tell me where you got the fabric to cover the bed frame?

Thanks bunches!

I love your bed - very nice and unique foot board that matches the headboard. They say bedrooms are all about fabrics. Your master bedroom looks amazing.
